New EMS handbook covers occupational safety

Emmitsburg, MD – The U.S. Fire Administration and the Office of Health Affairs on April 25 released a handbook for physician medical directors who help with emergency medical services response.

The handbook (.pdf file) addresses occupational health and safety, as well as liability issues. It was developed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs in partnership with USFA, OHA and the Department of Homeland Security.
