Senate confirms Strickland as NHTSA administrator
The Senate on Dec. 24 confirmed David L. Strickland as administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Strickland previously served on the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee and was lead counsel overseeing NHTSA for more than eight years. As senior counsel to the Consumer Protection, Product Safety and Insurance Subcommittee, he was the leading staff expert on fuel economy and vehicle safety.
