Terms end for two CSB members
Washington – Two members of the Chemical Safety Board completed their five-year terms on Sept. 22. William E. Wright and William B. Wark were appointed in September 2006.
Wright, a retired Navy captain and explosives expert, pushed the American Petroleum Institute to strengthen recommendations for use of trailers near refineries and chemical plants following the 2005 BP Texas City explosion.
Wark, who previously worked in emergency management, helped with investigations into major incidents such as last year’s explosion at the Tesoro refinery in Anacortes, WA; the 2009 gas explosion at ConAgra Foods in Garner, NC; and the 2008 dust explosion at Imperial Sugar in Port Wentworth, GA.
