Two carriers fail audit for cross-border pilot program
Washington – Two Mexico-based commercial motor vehicle carriers applying to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s cross-border trucking pilot program failed (.pdf file) their Pre-Authorization Safety Audits and have been dismissed.
The carriers, Transportes Mor S.A. de C.V. (.pdf file) and Adriana De Leon Amaro (.pdf file), each failed to provide proof they have a controlled-substances and alcohol testing program in place that is consistent with U.S. federal requirements (.pdf file). The carriers are the first to fail a Pre-Authorization Safety Audit, FMCSA noted.
The pilot program, launched in 2011 to fulfill a requirement in the North American Free Trade Agreement, is designed to help test whether Mexican trucks can operate safely in the United States beyond established border commercial zones.
