Welcome to the launch of Washington Wire, a blog focusing on the politics and policies driving occupational safety and health issues.

Here I'll provide my thoughts and opinions on recent OSH developments, and share reactions and comments from other stakeholders in the safety and health community. My monthly column published in Safety+Health, "Washington Update," also will appear on this blog.

I appreciate feedback, positive or negative, so please don't hesitate to comment on something I've written. I don't doubt controversial subjects may arise, and I invite commenters to debate the topic (in a civil discourse, of course).

I plan to update this blog at least weekly, but will do so more often when news warrants it. Be sure to check back often!
