‘Bounce house’ injuries increasing dramatically: study

Columbus, OH – A child is injured on an inflatable bouncing play set every 46 minutes, according to a new study from the Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Injury Research and Policy, which is urging parents to take steps to keep their children safe.

From 1995 to 2010, the number of children who were injured in bouncers increased 15-fold, the study found.

Researchers recommend the development of national guidelines on safe use of bouncers, also known as bounce houses and moonwalks. CIRP also offers its own tips for safe bouncer use.
