Work-related deaths on the rise, global study shows

Tampere, Finland — Deaths caused by workplace injuries and illnesses spiked an estimated 26% globally over a recent six-year period, results of a recent study indicate.

BLS: On-the-job deaths jump nearly 6% in 2022

Washington — A total of 5,486 workers died from on-the-job injuries in 2022 – a 5.7% increase from the previous year, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Dec. 19.
