DOT schedules second distracted driving summit

The Department of Transportation will host its second National Distracted Driving Summit on Sept. 21 in Washington, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood announced July 27.

In a DOT press release, LaHood said the summit will address distracted driving-related challenges and identify opportunities for national efforts to prevent distracted driving. The summit will feature leading transportation officials, safety advocates, law enforcement, industry representatives, researchers and victims affected by distraction-related crashes. Key topics will include research, technology, policy, public outreach and best practices in enforcement.
