Event Description

Watch the archived presentation below.

Each year, hundreds of burn injuries and deaths are recorded due to workers being exposed to open flame, high heat, flash fire or arc flash without proper personal protective equipment (PPE). In 2010, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported approximately 200 worker fatalities due to fire and explosions. According to data from the National Fire Protection Association, the National Safety Council and BLS, 5-10 arc flash incidents happen every day across the U.S. Arc flash and flash fires are a matter of life and death. So, how do we protect our workers?

Understanding Electric Arc Flash – An Ergodyne webinar starts with education. Safety professionals joined us on April 30 for this hour-long FR session to learn the basics of electric arc flash, gain insight into all those confusing FR standards and requirements, and learn the proper controls, including PPE, that can help protect workers.
