When an area is identified as a confined space, what does an employer need to do about it?

Richmond, British Columbia – Agricultural employers can keep track of confined spaces on their properties with a new mobile application from WorkSafeBC.

Washington – The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs on April 3 completed its review of OSHA’s Confined Spaces in Construction Standard, paving the way for the final rule to move forward.

OSHA statistics show that approximately 90 workers die from confined space-related incidents every year. One expert says these incidents continue to occur because many workers and employers don't know what confined spaces actually are, the dangers that lurk inside, and the safeguards that need to be in place.
