Washington – NIOSH has extended until Nov. 18 the comment period for its draft recommendation (.pdf file) for a diacetyl standard. The original deadline was Oct. 14.
Diacetyl, a butter flavoring, has been linked to bronchiolitis obliterans, a fatal lung disease also known as “popcorn workers lung.”
