NIOSH to discuss 9/11 benefits law

Washington – NIOSH has scheduled a public meeting for March 3 in New York to discuss the implementation of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act (.pdf file).

Signed into law earlier this year, the law establishes the World Trade Center Health Program to provide medical monitoring and treatment to first responders and survivors of the 9/11 WTC attacks. The program will be established within NIOSH, and will operate for five years. It is slated to begin offering services July 1.
