OSHA names new director of whistleblower program

Washington – OSHA recently announced Beth Slavet as the new director of the agency’s Whistleblower Protection Program.

Slavet has more than 30 years of experience related to the enforcement of federal whistleblower statutes, according to an OSHA press release. She is a former chairman, vice chairman and member of the Merit Systems Protection Board, and has spent the past decade focusing on whistleblower protection in her private legal practice.

OSHA enforces the whistleblower provisions of 22 statutes, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
