Railroad safety advisory committee to meet in September

The Federal Railroad Administration’s Railroad Safety Advisory Committee will meet on Sept. 23, according to a notice (.pdf file) published in the July 27 Federal Register. RSAC is tasked with developing railroad safety regulations through a consensus process.

Scheduled meeting topics include remarks from FRA Administrator Joseph C. Szabo; status reports by the Passenger Hours of Service, Training Standards, Track Safety Standards, Passenger Safety and Medical Standards working groups; and a status update on tasks arising out of the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008.
