EPA unveils calculator for workers exposed to pesticide-treated seeds

Washington — In an effort to provide “more confidence and certainty” about risks and exposures related to occupational pesticide seed treatment, the Environmental Protection Agency has developed a calculator and released updated worker exposure data.

Chemical Safety Board swears in two new members

Washington — Sylvia Johnson and Steve Owens on Feb. 2 were sworn in to serve five-year terms on the Chemical Safety Board, an agency that has operated with Chair and CEO Katherine Lemos as a self-described “quorum of one” since May 1, 2020.

Boise, ID — As a result of “continuing incidences of fatalities and injuries” at grain handling facilities within the jurisdiction of its Boise area office, OSHA on Dec. 31 renewed a Local Emphasis Program focused on inspections at these facilities.

Washington — OSHA has extended, for a second time, the deadline to submit nominations to serve on the reestablished Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health.
