Utah announces initiative on nursing home worker safety

​Salt Lake City – Nursing home worker safety and health is the topic of a new statewide emphasis initiative from the Utah Occupational Safety and Health Division.

The program, scheduled to run through Oct. 31, aims to educate employers and workers about common hazards and injuries in nursing homes, with a specific focus on the following:

  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Musculoskeletal injuries – strains and sprains
  • Workplace violence
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens
