Arlington, VA – The American Transportation Research Institute is inviting truck drivers to participate in two new surveys on how hours-of-service regulations and downtime caused by shippers and receivers have affected their operations.
The first survey asks drivers how the HOS final rule that went into effect in July 2013 has affected their levels of fatigue and safety. It follows up on a similar survey released in November 2013 and will be used to further quantify the rule’s impacts to the industry, according to a press release from ATRI, which is the research arm of the American Trucking Associations.
The second survey asks drivers to describe how the time they spend waiting on shippers and receivers affects their safety, productivity and compliance with HOS regulations.
The online versions of the surveys will be available through early May, ATRI said.
