NTSB to host forum on drowsy driving

Washington – An upcoming one-day public forum hosted by the National Transportation Safety Board will focus on potential risk factors for fatigue-related traffic crashes among non-commercial motor vehicle drivers.

The Awake, Alert, Alive: Overcoming the Dangers of Drowsy Driving forum is scheduled for Oct. 21 in Washington and also will be available via webcast. Panelists are expected to discuss countermeasures to help reduce drowsy driving crash risks, as well as workplace and health issues.

“If we are going to prevent future fatalities and injuries, we must identify and address the root causes of drowsy driving,” NTSB Acting Chairman Christopher Hart said in a press release.
