Washington – OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is scheduled to meet Dec. 4 to make recommendations on several proposed agency rule changes.
Slated for discussion at the public meeting: amending OSHA’s final rule on respiratory protection to include a new quantitative fit-testing protocol, and removing the Coke Oven Emissions Construction Standard from OSHA’s Standards Improvement Project IV rulemaking.
Also on the agenda are remarks from OSHA administrator David Michaels and an overview of communication tower safety initiatives.
ACCSH workgroups will host public meetings on Dec. 3.
Requests to speak or present at either the workgroup or full committee meetings are due Nov. 12.
In related news, OSHA is requesting nominations for ACCSH membership. The agency is seeking three employee representatives, three employer representatives, one public representative, and one representative of a State Plan agency for the 15-member committee. Nominations are due Jan. 2.
