The focus of the final week of National Safety Month is “Share Roads Safely.” This means being aware of everyone on the roads – including drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, road workers and motorcyclists. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of preventable death for people ages 1-24 – taking about 21 lives each day – and also the leading cause of workplace fatalities. Check out the National Safety Council’s Lifetime of Risk infographic for more information. You can also download free NSM materials and take the Safety Checkup to find out your personal safety risks.
