The Board of Certified Safety Professionals

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals, headquartered in Indianapolis, will be changing the name of the Occupational Health and Safety Technologist certification to Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician, effective Feb. 1. Because OHST was developed by the Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists (a joint venture between BCSP and the American Board of Industrial Hygiene), the OHST examination has contained a majority of items related to occupational hygiene. The name change will ensure the name of the examination more accurately represents the exam’s blueprint content. Workers who hold OHST certification will receive new certificates in conjunction with the change.
