NSC to host active shooter training in Chicagoland area

The National Safety Council will host four sessions of its “Surviving an Active Shooter Event” training course in the coming week.

The free two-hour sessions will cover how active shooter events unfold, how to be situationally aware and what actions are necessary to improve one’s odds of survival.

The sessions are scheduled to take place at:

  • Noon on March 11 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in St. Charles, IL
  • 7 p.m. on March 11 at the New Lenox Village Hall Community Room in New Lenox, IL
  • 6:30 p.m. on March 14 at Red Dot Arms in Lake Villa, IL
  • 9:30 a.m. on March 16 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in St. Charles, IL
