Portland, OR-based KEEN Inc. recently launched the “Together We Can Help” initiative so that its customers around the world could give a free pair of shoes to individuals directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In less than a week, KEEN partnered with customers to give away 100,000 pairs of shoes – about $10 million worth – to people in need. KEEN quickly built and deployed the initiative, which allowed customers to nominate those whom they felt were most in need of a new pair of shoes. Within five days, the program was live and shoes were being shipped around the world. The initiative met its goal of enabling people to stay connected and take action to help others on the front lines. These people, including workers in warehouses working overtime and in distribution centers keeping up with demand, nurses working additional shifts, grocery store clerks restocking shelves, and families trying to keep up with their kids out of school, got a boost thanks to a new pair of KEEN shoes.
