Washington — OSHA has scheduled a three-day training event for federal employees on how to ensure safe and healthful workplaces.
The event will take place Aug. 6-8 in Arlington Heights, IL. The OSHA Training Institute will conduct a series of in-person and online half-day seminars on safety and health-related topics, including:
- Electrical safety
- Fire protection
- Forklift operation and material handling
- Control of hazardous energy, or lockout
- Verbal de-escalation techniques
- Emergency preparedness in the federal workplace
- Bloodborne pathogens
- Scaffolding in construction
- Effective respiratory protection programs
- Exposure to silica dust or quartz dust
Registration is open to federal employees at no cost.
The OSHA Training Institute provides training and education on occupational safety and health subjects for federal and state compliance officers, state consultants, and other federal agency workers. The event will be conducted in collaboration with OSHA’s Office of Federal Agency Programs, which coordinates safety and health inspections of federal workplaces.
