Washington — OSHA is accepting nominations for membership on its Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health.
FACOSH members advise the labor secretary on issues relating to the occupational safety and health of federal workers. That includes “providing advice on how to reduce and keep to a minimum the number of injuries and illnesses in the federal workforce, and how to encourage the establishment and maintenance of effective occupational safety and health programs in each federal agency.”
The 16-member council is made up of eight management representatives and eight labor representatives.
According to a notice published on Sept. 11, OSHA is seeking one management rep and four labor reps for three-year terms beginning Jan. 1. The deadline to submit nominations is Oct. 11.
FACOSH’s next meeting is set for 1 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 17. The virtual meeting will be open to the public in listen-only mode.
