Free tool serves as info hub on asbestos, awareness group says

Redondo Beach, CA — A new tool from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization is designed to provide practical, step-by-step pathways to prevent asbestos exposure, document exposure history and access care management resources.

Users of the free Asbestos Action Navigator first answer a series of questions and then receive a “clear, safe action plan.”

The navigator offers pathways for:
Prevention: Build a personalized safety plan to avoid disturbing asbestos in workplaces, homes or schools. Users are guided through risk identification and practical steps to reduce exposure.
Exposure tracking: Create a personal exposure log. “Documenting potential asbestos contact can be valuable for long-term health monitoring and medical consultations.”
Care navigation: Plan treatment, organize medical records and connect with trusted networks to manage care.

Each pathway is paired with a downloadable PDF guide for easy reference.

“While promising research continues, prevention remains the only cure for asbestos-related diseases,” an ADAO press release states. “With prevention at the forefront, the navigator delivers lifesaving information directly to the public’s fingertips and helps keep communities safe from dangerous asbestos exposure.”
