Washington — President Donald Trump has named Vince Micone as acting labor secretary and Judith Kaleta as acting transportation secretary.
Micone has been serving as deputy assistant secretary for operations in the Department of Labor Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management. He previously worked in the departments of Commerce, Homeland Security, Justice and the Treasury.
Kaleta was deputy general counsel at the Department of Transportation. She previously worked at the Office of the General Counsel.
Sean Duffy, Trump’s nominee for transportation secretary, had a nomination hearing before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee on Jan. 15. The former member of Congress is expected to receive the committee’s approval on Jan. 22.
Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Trump’s nominee for labor secretary and a former U.S. representative, has yet to appear before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
