Columbia, SC — To help mark its 50th anniversary as a State Plan state, South Carolina OSHA is encouraging employers to provide at least 50 minutes of additional safety training to their workers during Safety Stand Down Week – set for Dec. 5-9.
Employers can provide their own training or participate in SC OSHA’s scheduled 50-minute training sessions, which will be offered virtually at noon Eastern each day. Those sessions will cover fall protection, forklifts and workplace violence.
All employers who provide training, whether onsite or virtually, will need to register with SC OSHA.
“We know that training is key to a safe and healthy work environment, and what better way to celebrate SC OSHA’s anniversary than to invest 50 extra minutes to make our worksites even safer,” SC OSHA Deputy Director Kristina Baker said in a press release. “We are asking employers to provide training and education on topics that are vital to their workers.”
