Where does your state rank?

A new report from the National Safety Council reveals 39 states have not gone far enough to protect their residents from COVID-19. State of the Response: State Actions to Address the Pandemic finds that despite COVID-19 claiming more lives than unintentional drug overdoses, motor vehicle crashes and falls combined, states are taking an inconsistent approach that has jeopardized safety. NSC assessed state efforts in five key areas: employer guidelines, testing, contact tracing, mental health and substance use, and roadway safety. Each state’s overall rating was calculated based on the summary of the state’s ratings in each of these areas, and then an “on-track,” “lagging” or “off-track” distinction was assigned.
