Lansing, MI — Michigan OSHA, along with the state’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, has published a 25-page guidance document intended to help employers safely return workers to office settings amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The document, announced by MIOSHA via Twitter on July 8, details guidance from OSHA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It also lists employer requirements under Executive Order 2020-145: Safeguards to Protect Michigan’s Workers from COVID-19, which was signed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on July 9.
Along with developing a COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, the document lists 11 other general workplace requirements for all employers with in-person operations, including designating a site supervisor, providing communication and employee training, and developing daily entry self-screen protocol. Also included are details on requirements for facial coverings in the workplace and recordkeeping, and numerous links to other COVID-19-related resources.
