Are you ready to be a Safety Ambassador?

Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council will launch its Safety Ambassador Program next week at the NSC Congress & Expo in Houston.

The program is designed to encourage individuals to bring safety back home and into their communities by participating in activities that educate about the leading causes of preventable death and injury. It will provide information, turnkey tools and resources to help Americans teach one another how to improve the safety of the people closest to them.

“When people understand the greatest risks to their safety and well-being, most will take steps to mitigate those risks,” NSC President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman said in an Oct. 15 press release. “We hope the Safety Ambassador Program inspires others to bring their safety knowledge home and instill the same passion in those they love.”

Program participants can complete a variety of activities to become a Safety Ambassador, including organizing a local event, giving a presentation or contacting their local legislators on a crucial safety issue. NSC offers prepared materials, resources and instructions for each activity.
