Washington — Operation Lifesaver has released five videos intended to warn young adults about the hazards of crossing railroad tracks.
Among the videos are a pair of one-minute animations titled Time to Wait and Hit by a Train, aimed at males 18 to 35 years old. This demographic is most likely to be involved in crossing or trespassing incidents, the national rail safety education nonprofit organization stated in a Nov. 27 press release.
The others – A Story to Tell, You Better Be Aware and Operation Lifesaver Rap – are music videos created for the inaugural U.S. Rail Safety Week, which took place Sept. 24 to 30.
“These engaging new materials were designed to emphasize our key safety messages with younger adult audiences,” Wende Corcoran, Operation Lifesaver interim president, said in the release. “We’re grateful to our safety partners at the Federal Railroad Administration for providing the funding for these rail safety education tools. These new materials are intended to be shared on social media with family, friends and other safety-minded organizations.”
