Survey seeks input on safety measurement system

Arlington, VA – The American Transportation Research Institute, the research arm of the American Trucking Associations, is encouraging commercial motor vehicle drivers to take a confidential online survey on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program.

ATRI is seeking drivers’ perceptions and general knowledge of the program, which assigns scores to CMV carriers based on their safety performance and determines which carriers have the greatest need for FMCSA intervention.

The results will be compared with data from the 2011 and 2012 driver surveys to determine how perceptions of the program have changed over time, according to an ATRI press release.

Drivers have until May 17 to take the survey. The anonymous results will be made available later this year, according to ATRI.
