OSHA moves forward on reducing duplicate standards

Washington – The next phase of OSHA’s efforts to reduce or eliminate unnecessary, duplicate or inconsistent standards is underway, with the focus shifting to construction standards.

OSHA submitted its Standards Improvement Project IV to the Office of Management and Budget on Aug. 23 for review. The standard, which currently is in the pre-rule stage, is the fourth in a series seeking to streamline agency standards by reducing compliance costs and paperwork burdens.
