In Washington state, no workers’ comp premium increase for 2012

Tumwater, WA – Overall workers’ compensation rates will remain the same in Washington state in 2012, the State Department of Labor and Industries announced Dec. 1.

After proposing a 2.5 percent increase in September, L&I decided to maintain the current rate based on public testimony about economic difficulties and positive trends in claim duration, the department said.

Individual employer rates may vary based on recent claims, and L&I warned that future increases may be unavoidable.
