Research institute launches survey of CSA program

Arlington, VA – The American Transportation Research Institute is conducting a survey on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability program, the institute announced July 12.

According to an ATRI press release, the online survey is intended to collect motor carriers’ views on the CSA program and their general understanding of key CSA components. During the Mid-American Trucking Show in Louisville, KY, March 31-April 2, the institute also launched a survey to assess CSA’s effect on approximately 5,000 commercial motor vehicle drivers. Results of both surveys will be available later this year, the press release stated.

FMCSA rolled out its CSA program in December 2010. The agency said the initiative is intended to improve large truck and bus safety by ultimately reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities related to CMVs.
