The Mine Safety and Health Administration recently announced (.pdf file) six public hearings on a proposed rule (.pdf file) that would revise the agency’s existing standards on miners’ occupational exposure to respirable coal mind dust, including lowering the current exposure limit.
The meeting dates are:
Dec. 9 — Washington, PA
Jan. 11 — Evansville, IN
Jan. 13 — Birmingham, AL
Jan. 25 — Salt Lake City, UT
Jan. 27 — Arlington, VA
Comments on the proposed rule are due Feb. 28, 2011.
