FMCSA issues final rule banning TWD for commercial drivers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Tuesday issued a final rule (.pdf file) banning commercial motor vehicle drivers from texting while driving.

Violators are subject to civil penalties in an amount of up to $2,750 for drivers and $11,000 for motor carriers or employers.
