NTSB retools search platform for safety recommendations

Washington — The National Transportation Safety Board has revamped its search platform for investigation data and safety recommendations in an effort to improve navigation of the online tool.

In a June 1 announcement, NTSB said the update to its Case Analysis and Reporting Online query tool, or CAROL, will provide a “clearer, faster and more intuitive way” to “search, filter and review NTSB’s information across all modes of transportation.”

Users can search for NTSB determinations about factors that contributed to incidents for each mode, the agency says. They also can:

- Digital Partners -
  • Save custom searches and share securely using login.gov
  • Share direct links to saved searches
  • Access the Application Programming Interface tool to add NTSB data to websites or apps

The previous version of CAROL remains accessible.
