Advisory committee to meet in November, discuss Deepwater Horizon

Washington – Incident reports from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion will be reviewed next month by the National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee.

NOSAC is scheduled to meet (.pdf file) Nov. 8 in Houston to review recommendations from two subcommittees, which will meet one day earlier. In addition to reviewing the Deepwater Horizon incident reports, the subcommittees will discuss standards for dynamic positioning operating personnel.

The meetings are open to the public, and written comments must be submitted by Oct. 25. NOSAC provides advice and recommendations to the Department of Homeland Security regarding activities related to offshore oil and gas operations.
