Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council values diversity and cultivates an inclusive environment as it dedicates itself to its mission of saving lives, from the workplace to anyplace. The nonprofit is seeking a diverse slate of individuals to serve on its Board of Directors and Delegates Advisory Committee to the Board of Directors. All nominations will be reviewed for experience, interests and industry representation.

If interested in serving, complete the applicable form below. Note: The deadline to complete a nomination form is Feb. 24.

Prospective Board of Directors: Board members are responsible for ensuring NSC fulfills its mission by planning for the future, monitoring current operations and evaluating the organization. Members must fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities of the board, making organizational decisions that protect and further the mission. Directors may be elected for a term of not less than one year or greater than two years and meet in person at least twice each fiscal year in addition to two board conference calls. If interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors, complete the Prospective Board of Directors nomination form.

Prospective Delegates: Members of the Delegates Advisory Committee to the Board of Directors provide direction, counsel and guidance to the Board of Directors regarding causes and solutions to identified areas of need; provide policy position statement recommendations to the board; assist in the execution of the council’s strategic plan; and promote NSC membership. Delegates are elected for a two-year term, and the committee meets as often as deemed necessary to fulfill its responsibilities, but no fewer than two times annually. If you’re not currently serving as a delegate and wish to do so, complete the Prospective Delegates nomination form.

Delegate renewal: If you currently serve as an NSC delegate and would like to renew your commitment, complete the Delegate Renewal form.

The next class of delegates will begin its two-year term effective at the Delegates Committee meeting held in conjunction with the annual council meeting in October in New Orleans. Nominees will be notified of their acceptance status in advance of the meeting.
