Washington — OSHA will launch a National Emphasis Program “this summer” that will focus on high injury rates in warehouses, agency administrator Doug Parker said June 13.

Speaking during a National Forklift Safety Day event at the National Press Club, Parker said people “should be aware that those enforcement efforts are forthcoming, and it’s imperative that people get ready now through their training and other methods.”

Parker said the warehouse NEP will include “all aspects of the operation,” including powered industrial trucks, and likely will be rolled out publicly in the next 30 days, with an effective date soon afterward.
