Surface transportation funding bill includes EOBR mandate

Washington – President Barack Obama on July 6 signed into law a multiyear bill that will fund surface transportation safety agencies and programs through September 2014.

NHTSA announces public hearing on electronic stability control

Washington – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is scheduled to host a hearing July 24 on a recent notice of proposed rulemaking that would mandate the installation of electronic stability control devices in all large commercial motor vehicles.

CDC: Prescription drug overdoses related to methadone on the rise

Atlanta – The rate of overdose deaths involving the prescription drug methadone in 2009 was 5.5 times the rate in 1999, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
