Silver Spring, MD – The Food and Drug Administration on April 18 released an advisory on unintentional exposure to patches containing fentanyl, a painkiller used to manage long-term conditions. Large doses of fentanyl can cause serious side effects or death among vulnerable populations such as children, according to FDA.

BLS releases final 2010 fatality data

Washington – In 2010, 4,690 workers died on the job in the United States, according to final data released April 25 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Washington – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently announced a contest to encourage teens to speak up when riding in a car with a distracted driver.

New rule establishes database of certified CMV medical examiners

Washington – The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on April 18 published a final rule that requires interstate truck and bus driver medical examiners to be trained, tested and certified on the physical qualifications of commercial motor vehicle drivers.
