Council releases estimates for Memorial Day traffic crashes

The National Safety Council estimates 420 people will be killed and an additional 42,000 medically consulted injuries will occur as a result of motor vehicle crashes over Memorial Day weekend. NSC also estimates that 149 people will survive a crash because they will be wearing a safety belt, and an additional 107 lives could be saved if everyone buckled up.

NSC encourages all drivers to buckle up, and ensure passengers also are buckled.
