Washington – The Chemical Safety Board plans to release preliminary findings of its Deepwater Horizon investigation during a two-day public meeting July 23-24.
The meeting, scheduled to take place in Houston, will focus on measuring process safety performance in high-hazard industries, according to a CSB press release. As part of discussions on developing and implementing leading and lagging indicators, CSB said it will share its evaluation of the American Petroleum Institute’s standard on process safety performance indicators (ANSI/API RP 754).
“The CSB’s public hearing will provide a unique opportunity for safety experts from around the world to share information and discuss the most advanced work in the area of safety performance indicators for major accident prevention in high-hazard industries,” agency Chairman Rafael Moure-Eraso said in the press release.
