Washington – Two OSHA advisory committees are scheduled to meet in Washington in May to discuss occupational safety and health issues facing the construction industry and federal workers.
The Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health will meet May 3 to review revised recommendations on permissible exposure limits, proposed changes to recordkeeping requirements and recently approved H1N1 influenza recommendations.
Six new committee members recently appointed by Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis will be announced at the meeting.
Composed of 16 members representing federal agency management and federal employees, FACOSH advises the secretary of labor on occupational safety and health issues pertaining to federal workers.
On May 10-11, the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is scheduled to meet to discuss the Standards Improvement Project IV rulemaking, hear updates from the Directorate of Construction and watch a presentation on OSHA targeting in the construction industry, among other topics. Prior to the full committee meeting, ACCSH workgroups will meet May 8-9.
ACCSH is composed of 15 members who advise the secretary of labor and the OSHA administrator on policy matters and construction standards.
