Indianapolis – The Indiana Department of Labor has launched a statewide initiative targeting common injuries among health care workers.
Health care workers have the second highest injury and illness rates in the state – topping construction and manufacturing, according to a press release announcing the program.
The initiative – aimed at hospitals, nursing homes and residential care facilities – will address common injuries such as slips, trips and falls; repetitive stress injuries; needlesticks; and exposure to bloodborne pathogens. The initiative, led by the Indiana OSHA consultation division, will connect employers and workers with resources including articles, posters, public service announcements and website banners, the press release states.
