Five organizations recently released a guide (.pdf file) on best practices for aerial work platform equipment as part of a larger initiative to promote safety and increase risk management knowledge.
The document addresses:
- Education on industry-recognized and supported standards
- Presenting best practices and minimum general training guidelines for AWP operators
- Emphasizing the differences between general training and familiarization to all parties responsible
- Clarifying minimum qualifications of the trainer
The American Rental Association, Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Associated Equipment Distributors, Scaffold Industry America and International Powered Access Federation jointly released the guide.
