Washington – OSHA has issued a guidance document to help small businesses comply with the recently promulgated cranes and derricks standard for construction.
“Over the past four decades, we’ve continued to see a significant number of worker injuries and deaths from electrocution, crushed-by and struck-by hazards while performing cranes and derricks operations. This guide will help employers understand what they must do to protect their workers from these dangerous, sometimes fatal, incidents,” OSHA administrator David Michaels said in a press release.
The small entity guidance was issued March 8, four months after the updated standard went into effect. Certain provisions of the standard will go into effect over the course of the next four years.
